“If I have no ego than surely I can not be insulted”
Yeah, well I’m calling bull. This quote is so wrong that I’m not even going to bother looking up the correct wording for it. Ego or not, it is simple to insult a person. You don’t need an ego for an insult. You need a passion.
I have no doubt in my mind that, that quote is something Buddha said long ago (or something the internet claims Buddha has said long ago).
Buddha is now a fool.
Or at least he looks like one thanks to my twitter feed.
Buddha has now become an excuse for pretentious teenagers and 20-something year olds to seem more ‘spiritual’ or ‘at one with themselves’ then the rest of us, when frankly they’re just as shit.
Heres a quote those hipsters should start tattooing across their wrists, next to their infinity tattoo:
Be the change you wish to see in the world
- Mahatma Gandhi
I highly suggest they follow it too. I don’t necessarily like being made out to be inferior because I don’t have a spiritual side in which I am at one with myself, nor do I like to be treated as an idiot because I haven’t taken a week long trip to India to help the less fortunate.
If anything, doesn’t the notification or Facebook album or web page dedicated to this spiritual journey, completely diminish the entire reasoning of that quote.
Congrats pretentious-kale eating-latte sipping-hipster child, you’ve made Buddha roll over in his grave.
Disclaimer: I’m not sure where that quote is from. Not even sure if it’s Buddha’s. I was trying to get a point across…
